Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit will participate in the second edition of "Rome Med – Mediterranean Dialogues", set to open in Rome later Thursday.
In statements to MENA on Thursday, AL Secretary General Assistant Ambassador Hossam Zaki said that Abul-Gheit is keen on participating in the three-day conference to put forth Egypt's vision on a host of regional issues.
The conference brings together ministers and senior officials from more than 55 countries.
As for Abul Gheit's visit to Oman, Ambassador Zaki said that the visit falls within the framework of his visits to the League's member states.
During his visit to Oman, Abul Gheit had talks with Omani Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah on a number of issues tabled on the AL agenda, including political crises and complicated regional files, Zaki said
They also discussed to the situation in Gulf countries and the Iranian file and the situation in Yemen and Syria, Zaki added.
He underlined that the Arab League, in cooperation with the Arab Thought Foundation, will organize the foundation's 15th annual conference "FIKR 15" in Abu Dhabi on December 12-14.
