Ajman Ruler

H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, and H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, were briefed about the ongoing arrangements for the Ajman Census 2017 and its objectives during a meeting with the Committee of Ajman Census on Tuesday.

The head of the committee informed the leaders about the objectives of the census, which was to collect detailed data about the demographic characteristics of the emirate, buildings, households, establishments and services, so as to better plan for its development, as per the Ajman Strategic Plan 2021.

During the meeting, Sheikh Humaid launched the self-counting portal for the census which will start on 23rd February and continue until 3rd March. It will be followed by the general census on 6th March. H.H. started the launch by giving his personal information to the committee.

He urged both citizens and expatriates to provide accurate information which would help decision-makers to draw development plans and general policies.

''The Ajman Census must be holistic and informative, so that the collected data can assist planners to improve services in the emirate,'' HH affirmed.

The Ajman Census aims to collect and disseminate information about the emirate demography, the social and economic status of its population, measure the common conditions of population growth, the geographical distribution of the population, age-sex distribution, educational status, number of marriages and divorces, fertility rate, deaths, career structure, and economic activities, among others.

It will also provide the framework to conduct specialised domestic research, such as the manpower, family budget, fertility rates, death and migration.
