Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit left here for Kuwait on an official two-day visit to the Gulf country.
Abul Gheit is set to meet with Kuwaiti Emir Jaber al Ahmad al Sabah along with a number of high-ranking Kuwaiti officials to hold consultations on the latest developments in the Arab region and ways of improving joint Arab action, Spokesman for the AL chief Plenipotentiary Mahmoud Afify said.
Afify added that the AL head will brief the Kuwaiti leadership on the latest developments and contacts aimed at restoring the active role of the Arab League in dealing with Arab crises and the latest developments in the Palestinian cause.
The mechanism of the Kuwaiti leadership's support for the humanitarian role of the AL in lending a hand to internally displaced Arab refugees will be tackled during the visit as well.
