Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary-General of the GCC, yesterday met with Gilles de Kerchove, Counter-Terrorism Coordinator at the European Union Council, who was accompanied by Pedro Serrano, Deputy Secretary-General at the European External Action Service, EEAS.

During the meeting, which was held at the Secretariat-General in Riyadh, the parties discussed the efforts of the GCC in cooperation with the EU to combat international terrorism, and ways to strengthen cooperation and intensify regional and international efforts to develop regional security and fight against terrorism.

Dr. Al Zayani expressed the determination of the GCC to continue its efforts in cooperation with the international community to combat terrorism and eliminate its extremist organisations, stressing the importance of coordination to address the threat posed by terrorist organisations on regional and international peace.
