Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayeb left here Sunday back home concluding a foreign tour that had also taken him to Bahrain to coordinate efforts on spreading the culture of peace, dialogue and co-existence.
In Bahrain, Tayeb, who is also president of the Muslim Council of Elders, met with King Hamad bin Issa al Khalifa and chaired a council meeting in Manama.
In Geneva, he chaired the third round of dialogue between the elders of the West and East, which was held in coordination with the World Council of Churches. He delivered an important speech on the role of men of religion in achieving global peace at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey city.
