Energy Minister Dr. Abdul Hussain Bin Ali Mirza visited on December 8, 2011 well number 1000 in the Bahrain Oil Field which was recently drilled near Jebel El-Dukhan. The visit was attended by the executive management of Tatweer Petroleum and other invited guests from NOGA and Bapco .Bahrain’s first oil well was drilled in 1931 and since the handover of the Bahrain Field Operations on December 1, 2009 to Tatweer Petroleum, more than 200 oil and gas wells have been drilled. Dr. Mirza's visit was made to congratulate the management and employees of Tatweer for successfully drilling oil well number 1000 after it has now been put on production. The dynamic pace of re-developing Bahrain Oil Field is on fast track as 360 new wells are hoped to be drilled over the next 20 years. Tatweer Petroleum Company continues to expand the oil and gas production capacity for the kingdom of Bahrain with ongoing technology innovation to enhance the oil recovery processes.The prolific Bahrain Oil Field is witnessing a resurgence of activity and investment, as production levels are being increased to achieve the planned target which will indeed contribute to the Kingdom's prosperity and employment opportunities.Dr. Mirza expressed his thanks and appreciation to the wise political leadership of Bahrain for their support to the oil industry and to Tatweer Petroleum in particular to enable it to continue to achieve its re-development of Bahrain Oil Field for the benefit of the Bahraini people.
