US Vice President Joe Biden discussed over the phone with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu efforts to confront the terrorist Daesh organization.

A statement by the White House said both parties centered on the latest developments in Iraq.

During the phone conversation, Biden highlighted the importance of settling the recent dispute between Turkey and the Iraqi government in a way that shows a full respect to Iraq's sovereignty.

He also underlined the necessity to coordinate efforts with the US-led coalition to fight the terrorist Daesh organization.
