A British MP has called for supporting Egypt's economy through resuming flights to its Red Sea resort city of Sharm el Sheikh.

Harming the Egyptian economy is one way of encouraging extremists to assume power in the country, said Lord Marlesford, who heads a "Friends of Egypt" group in the British parliament.

Member of the House of Lords Ahmed of Rotherham said that the UK government is intensively coordinating efforts with Cairo to resume flights to Sharm el Sheikh as soon as possible.
