Cairo Governor Atef Abdel Hamid received on Sunday a delegation of Tokyo Municipality and the International Judo Federation as part of a twinship agreement signed between Cairo and Tokyo.
The agreement allows the Japanese side to hold a number of workshops on Judo in cooperation with the Egyptian Judo Federation and Al Zohour Club as part of promotion for the Olympic Games 2020 to he held in Tokyo.
During the meeting, the governor asserted the depth of the Egyptian-Japanese relations and the exchange of expertise between the two sides over the past decades.
The governor invited Tokyo mayor to visit Cairo in any suitable time.
The governor presented the governorate's shield and a Judo jacket with Tokyo Olympic 2020 logo to the visiting delegation.
The meeting was attended by officials of the Youth and Sports directors and the representative of the Japanese embassy in Cairo.
