Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mousssa Faki arrived Khartoum, Sunday, on a two-day visit during which he will hold meetings with the Country's leaders.

He was received at Khartoum Airport by AU Social Affairs Commissioner, Foreign Minister, Professor Ibrahim Ghandour and a number of ambassadors resident in Khartoum.

Faki said in press statements upon arrival at Khartoum Airport that this the first visit to Sudan since his election as Chairman of AU Commission , commending Sudan stances towards issues of the African continent.

He said he came to Sudan to hold consultation with Sudanese leadership over Africa program, and to listen to advices of President of the Republic, Omer Al-Bashir.

Foreign Minister , Professor Ibrahim Ghandour , on his side, welcomed visit of Chairperson of the AU Commission to Sudan and congratulated his on his election as Chairperson of the AU Commission, stressing that he was qualified for assuming the position.

He said the Chairperson of the AU Commission would meet President of the Republic, and the First Vice-President of the Republic and Federal Prime Minister to stand on experiment of government of national accord and progress of political work in Sudan , besides meeting the Foreign Minister to review Sudan's relations with AU .

Professor Ghandour added that the Africa International University would honor the African Union in the person of Chairperson of the AU Commission.
