Head of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) Gianni Pittella in the European Union (EU) left Cairo on Sunday.
Pittella was on a short visit to Egypt where he met president Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri.
Pittella discussed means of reinforcing Egyptian-European cooperation.
During his meeting with Sisi, Pittella offered condolences of the EU over martyrs of Sinai, denouncing the whole terrorist action.
