Chinese military commander leaves Egypt

China's Deputy Chief of Staff Admiral Sun Jianguo left Cairo on Thursday, wrapping up a two-day visit to Egypt.

During the visit, Jianguo met with Egypt's Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mahmoud Hegazy to discuss promoting cooperation in the military field and a number of issues of mutual concern.

The Chinese official hailed as strong relations binding Egypt and China.

He stressed the importance of continuing cooperation and coordination between both countries in various fields.

He praised efforts exerted by the Egyptian Armed Forces to fight terrorism and to enhance security and stability in the Middle East.

Hegazy said that he is looking forward to enhancing cooperation with China in the military fields.
