Cuban Ambassador in Cairo Laureano Rodriguez lauded the security level in Egypt, particularly in Luxor city.

During a meeting with Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr on Tuesday, the Cuban diplomat stressed the importance of operating direct flights between Havana and Luxor.

For his part, Badr underlined the depth of ties between Egypt and Cuba since the era of late president Gamal Abdel Nasser, adding that both the Egyptian and Cuban peoples are similar in nature.

The two sides also reviewed means of promoting bilateral cooperation.
