Minister of Defense and Military Production and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Sedqi Sobhi attended on Tuesday a practical exercise of the basic combat skills and minor tactics that was carried out by students of the Egyptian Military Academy.
The exercise reflected the students' preparedness to take prompt decisions and effectively respond to emergency situations.
The defense minister honored a number of the academy's teaching staff and distinguished alumni.
He expressed his appreciation of tangible efforts exerted by the academy, which is one the oldest and most prominent military academies in Egypt and Africa.
Established in 1811, the Military Academy features a prolonged study system so as to graduate more elite officers to serve in the 1st Army and Special forces, such as the Branch of Military Arts and Thunderbolt School.
