Defense Minister Sedki Sobhi returned home on Friday coming from Paris after a several days' visit to France.

During the visit, he handed over French President Francois Hollande a letter from his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

Sobhi discussed a number of issues with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian, including boosting bilateral relations and the latest developments in the Middle East.

The visit came as part of efforts to promote cooperation between France and Egypt. 

During the visit, the defense minister received the "Gamal Abdel Nasser" Mistral-class carrier.
