H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and senior officials attended a celebration held at the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi to mark the UAE Commemoration Day.
After a minute’s silence was observed at 11:30 am, the UAE flag was hoisted and the national anthem was played to show the UAE's pride in the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to defend their country and preserve its elevated stature.
The nationwide Commemoration Day celebrations began at 8 in the morning by lowering the flags.
The UAE Commemoration Day, originally referred to as Martyrs Day, was first observed last year on 30th November.
Others who attended the celebrations included Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazroui, Secretary- General of the Executive Council; Jaber Mohammed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, General Director of the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; Saif Al Muhairi, Director of the office of Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, as well as executive directors, heads of directorates and departments and employees of the Court.
