Armenian Ambassador to Egypt Armen Melkonian said that an Armenian business delegation will visit Cairo soon to discuss promoting bilateral cooperation in various domains.
In an interview with MENA correspondent on Thursday on the occasion of Armenia's Independence Day, celebrated on September 21, the diplomat hailed Egyptian-Armenian ties as "strong and cordial", saying there is a constructive political dialogue between the two countries based on mutual understanding and cooperation.
The two countries could boost economic cooperation in the fields of information technology, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, textiles, tourism, foodstuffs as well as building and construction, Melkonian said.
The Egyptian side is currently preparing for meetings of the Armenian-Egyptian Intergovernmental Committee in Yerevan that will discuss bolstering economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, the diplomat said.
He further underlined that trade exchange between the two countries does not rise to the level of political relations, stressing the importance of beefing up Armenian investments in Egypt.
As for cultural cooperation, he said that the Armenian Cultural Days will be held in Egypt from November 10 to 15.
The Armenian diplomat added he will open on Sunday an exhibition titled "Armenia and Egypt: the similarity of colors" by Professional Photographer Tawfik Dajani.
