Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry left on Sunday for Equatorial Guinea to attend a meeting of African foreign ministers on Monday.
Africa's top diplomats will meet to prepare for the African summit slated for Thursday.
Before leaving for Equatorial Guinea, Shoukry met with US Secretary of State John Kerry.
