Egypt's judo mission

Egypt's judo mission returned home coming from Brazil after they participated in the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 5 to 21.

The mission groups judoists; Ahmed Ali Abdel Rahman, Mohamed Moheiddin, Mohamed Ali Abdel Aaal, Ramadan Darwish and Islam el Shehaby.

On Friday, Israeli fighter Or Sasson defeated Shehaby in a 100kg judo match in Rio and in customary judo fashion he extended his hand for a handshake but Shehaby refused.

The International Olympic Committee (OIC)'s Disciplinary Commission has decided to investigate the refusal of Egyptian judo fighter Islam el Shehaby to shake the hand of his Israeli opponent.

The probe will find find out why he refused to shake the hand of his Israeli opponent.

Earlier, the Egyptian Olympic Committee said in a statement that Shehaby's act is personal, adding that it told him before the game to abide by all rules with the Israeli athlete.
