President of Germany Joachim Gauck arrived Friday to Peru, where he is on a state visit for several days.
Peru is the first destination of Gauck's South American tour. He will meet with President of Peru Ollanta Humala later today to discuss bilateral relations and combating poverty and corruption.
It is the first visit by a German president to Peru since 1964.
