Grand Mufti of the Republic Dr. Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun on Monday said that the culture of dialogue must prevail among cultures, stressing the need to adopt the language of love and peace instead of hatred and enmity. During his meeting with an Egyptian delegation visiting Syria, Hassoun said that religious media is playing a dangerous role, with some channels sowing discord among Muslim instead of bringing them closer, calling on media to be truthful in relaying facts instead of spreading lies. In another meeting with a Slovakian delegation visiting Syria, Hassoun said that what is happening in the region proves that someone is seeking to sow strife among countrymen and protect Israel\'s interests at the expense of the region\'s countries. For his part, Head of the Communist Party in Slovakia Jozef Hrdlicka said that the delegation came to witness the reality of what is happening in Syria and relay the truth to the Slovakian people, adding that they witnessed admirable coexistence among the Syrians. He said that in Europe, Islam and Muslims are often associated with terrorism, but what the delegation saw in Syria shows that Islam is a religion of amity, peace and dialogue.
