Hollande: Trump comments make me sick

French President Francois Hollande has strongly criticized US presidential candidate Donald Trump, saying some of the things the Republican does make him sick.
“Some excesses make your stomach turn, even in the United States, especially when — as did Donald Trump — he speaks ill of a soldier, of the memory of a soldier,” Hollande said at a meeting with members of the French Presidential Press Association.
Hollande was referring to Trump’s recent comments about Capt. Humayun Khan, a US Muslim soldier killed in Iraq in 2004.
Government spokesman Stephane Le Foll said Hollande’s comments were a response to Trump’s recent verbal attacks on France.
“In this (US presidential) campaign, there are some extremely unusual types of comments,” Le Foll told reporters following a Cabinet meeting Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Trump insisted on Wednesday that his presidential campaign is unified, even as he faces open revolt from some in his party.
“There is great unity in my campaign, perhaps greater than ever before. I want to thank everyone for your tremendous support. Beat Crooked H!” the Republican nominee wrote on Twitter early Wednesday, referring to Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.
Several media outlets reported that the campaign is in disarray and that Trump had rejected advice from his staff to drop the battle with the Khans.
According to one news report, the Republican National Committee is looking at its options in case Trump drops out. RNC Chairman Reince Priebus is furious about the dispute with the Khans and has spoken with Trump repeatedly asking him to change course, ABC News reported Wednesday.
It said senior officials are looking into how to replace Trump on the Republican ticket for the Nov. 8 election. The Trump campaign had no immediate comment on the report.
Also, a federal judge in San Diego rejected a request to dismiss a lawsuit against Trump that accuses him of defrauding customers at the now-defunct Trump University. US District Judge Gonzalo Curiel said the 2011 case can go forward.
Curiel had already indicated at a hearing last month that he was inclined to dismiss the request.
