Secretary of state John Kerry

US State Secretary John Kerry arrives in the Italian capital Rome on Sunday for talks on the latest developments in Libya.

State Department spokesman John Kirby said Kerry's talks with his Italian counterpart Paolo Gentiloni assert the international commitment to help the Libyan people form their national unity government.

Kerry had a number of contacts in the last few days to prepare for his talks in Italy, including contacts with UN envoy for Libya Martin Kobler and US Special Envoy for Libya Jonathan Winer.
