HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa

Tariq Essam Sulaiman, CEO of Tariq Pastries praised the competitions of Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls, held for the fifth year under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities.


Mr. Sulaiman attended the semifinals of the girls tournament held for the first time as part of the league this year. He met with the organising committee, players and referees and visited the photo exhibition organised on the sidelines of the league.

Mr. Sulaiman valued the care and patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa of the Bahraini youth and sports movement by organising events that invests in their energies and improves their skills and talents such as His Highness's annual futsal league, reflecting his care about local sports and talents.

He said Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League has become one of the most popular sports events among the Bahraini youth, as it reflects the social and humanitarian initiatives of His Highness to strengthen cohesion and social bonds between the Bahraini youth who represent all of the areas, villages and towns of the kingdom, as well as integrating people with disabilities with all sorts of events and encouraging female athletes to engage in more activities.

Mr. Sulaiman said: "The positive interaction of the youth with the league reflects that it meets the aspirations of the different segments of the Bahraini society. We commend on the visionary of His Highness and his keenness on annually organising the league, which is a great opportunity to develop the youth and sports movement in Bahrain."

He also praised the remarkable efforts of His Highness and the organisers and sponsors of Khalid bin Hamad League for introducing such a sports event every year for the past five years, serving the requirements of the youth, people with disabilities and female athletes this year and meeting their aspirations.

It's noteworthy that Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League is jointly organised for the fifth consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, under the slogan #Generations_Meeting and comes as part of the initiative of His Highness. Launched on July 24, the league will continue to the 14th of the next month. It includes 59 teams that represent youth centres, local unregistered clubs, people with disabilities and girls' teams for the first time.

 

Team Will & Team Determination to The Finals

In the semifinals of the girls tournament, Team Will qualified to the final match after winning their opponent Team Giving by a score of 8-1. Team Determination was the second to qualify to the finals, winning Team Hope by a score of 5-0 and eliminating them from the tournament.

Both teams will meet in the final match on Thursday and only one of them will be crowned as the first champions of the first girls futsal tournament. The organising committee honoured Iman Al-Khattal of Team Will and Najla Trab of Team Determination for their exceptional good performances in the matches and their contribution to the qualifying of their teams to the final match.

The venue of the league, Khalifa Sports City Hall, witnessed a family atmosphere during the semifinals of the girls tournament, as their families were present to cheer for them and support them.

The organising committee said an obvious increase in the numbers of attendees has been noticed as the league comes to an end. This comes as the competition is witnessing more excitement in its final rounds. The committee also said that the prizes allocated to fans and spectators have contributed to attracting more fans and sports enthusiasts.

It announced earlier that HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa has directed to allocate a brand-new car as the grand prize of the league for one lucky spectator of the final matches of the three tournaments that will be held on Thursday.
