Chief of the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army Lt.-Gen. Staff Abdulrahman Mohammad Al-Othman arrived here Monday night, leading a senior-level military delegation on an official four-day visit to Jordan. Lt.-Gen. Al-Othman and his party were welcomed at Amman-Marka International Airport by Chief of the Joint Staff of the Jordan Gen. Staff Meshaal Mohammad Al-Zaben and other senior army officers, as well as Kuwait Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Hamad Al-Du'aij and Military Attache Maj.-Gen. Fallah Al-Sunni and other diplomatic staff. Gen. Staff Al-Zaben voiced, in statements to KUNA, joy for hosting Lt.-Gen. Al-Othman, saying his visit to Jordan will push forward the defense cooperation between the two sisterly countries. "The Kingdom of Jordan and the State of Kuwait maintain exemplary relations in all fields under the wise leadership of King Abdullah II and His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah," he pointed out. "The visit falls in the framework of the meetings of the joint military commission being held in Amman and Kuwait City alternately on an annual basis, " Gen. Staff Al-Zaben added. On his part, Ambassador Al-Du'aij said the senior-level visit exchanges between the two countries aim to further strengthen the friendly ties and cooperation. Meanwhile, Maj.-Gen Al-Sunni said Lt.-Gen. Al-Othman will lead Kuwait delegation to the ninth session of the joint military commission. "The session will discuss the various aspects of the military cooperation as well as regional developments," he added.
