Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah arrived in Islamabad on Sunday evening on a three-day official visit for wide-ranging talks with Pakistani leadership, officials said. He will hold talks with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday, with Memorandum of Understandings to boost bilateral cooperation in various fields expected to be signed. Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak is leading a high-level delegation including several ministers, top government officials and businessmen as well as media persons, the Foreign Ministry said. President Mamnoon Hussain will host a dinner reception for the foreign dignitary at the Presidency later on Sunday. The interaction between the business community of Pakistan and Kuwait is also expected during the visit to explore further avenues for bilateral cooperation in trade. Official sources said the visit by Kuwaiti prime minister will give a new impetus to the existing cordial bilateral relations. It will also provide a good opportunity to reinvigorate efforts aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries in diverse fields. Foreign Office spokesperson Aziz Ahmed Chaudhary said that the visit carries special significance as it is taking place at a time when Pakistan and Kuwait are celebrating the 50th anniversary of establishment of their relations. It is also the first visit by a top Kuwaiti leader to Pakistan in seven years.
