Kuwaiti racer Salah Bin Eedan during a previous tournament

Kuwaiti racer Salah Bin Eedan won fourth round of Kuwait rally that concluded here late on Saturday.
Sheikh Hamad Al-Thani of Qatar came second, followed by the Saudi Ahmad Al-Qashaami. Six racers pulled out of the competition due to mechanical failures -- namely the Kuwaiti champion Meshari Al-Dhafiri whose car turned over during the race.
Sheikh Athbi Al-Nayef Al-Sabah, chairman of the rallies committee at Basel Al-Salem Al-Sabah Motor Racing Club, hailed, in a statement, racers' high level of performance. He added that organizing committee made sure that the racers would compete on an 86-km-long track, split according to specifications of the FIA (the International Automobile Federation).
The racers scored close results, manifesting fierce competition, he said, affirming that a large number of the competitors had to pull out due to mechanical problems.
The championship got underway in November. Several Kuwaiti racers had taken part in previous rounds' namely Al-Eedan, Saleh Ghadanfar, Meshari Al-Dhafiri, Salem Al-Dhafiri, Hussein Mehdi, Daoud Al-Gharabally, Ali Alwazzan, Abdulaziz Al-Bachir, Abdul Aziz Al-Dhafiri, Masoud Al-Saleh and Mohammad Al-Dhafiri.
