H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, today visited the 13th Dubai Airshow at Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali.
Sheikh Maktoum was accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of the Emirates Group and Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the Dubai Airshow, and Major General Ishaq Al Balushi, Head of the Executive Administration of Industries and Development of Defensive Capabilities at the Ministry of Defence and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the Event for Operations.
Sheikh Maktoum toured the exhibition, which features around 100 international companies that specialise in the sectors of transport, air defence, missile systems, military equipment and other various technologies.
He visited the pavilions of several participating countries, including France, the United Kingdom and Russia, as well as the Airbus pavilion.
He was briefed by the organisers of these pavilions and officials from the participating companies about their latest innovations and products in the field of civil and military aviation transport, which are being presented for the first time in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.
Sheikh Maktoum, who visited the exhibition for the first time, expressed his happiness at the large international gathering and the success of the event, which confirms the global confidence in the UAE and the apt vision of the wise leadership to promote local tourism and enhance the nation’s culture of social and commercial openness to other countries, as well as its desire to establish the foundations of sustainable development and the economic and social stability of the UAE people while supporting underprivileged and vulnerable people around the world.
He also praised the efforts of the supreme organising committee of the international event, which has gained a prominent international reputation.
