German Chancellor Angela Merkel will travel to Kiev on Saturday for political talks on the Ukraine crisis, a Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday.

The visit comes as Ukraine is preparing for Independence Day celebrations, Reuters reported.
