Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has visited the Dubai International Motor Show currently running at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Hamdan, accompanied by Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of Dubai Protocol and Hospitality and Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and CEO of Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), toured the exhibition and listened to a detailed explanation from Almarri about the increase in size of the 65,000 square meter exhibition space, which is the largest since its launch, and 40% percent bigger than the previous edition. Almarri said that more than 150 countries are represented with displays of their latest products, many of which are manufactured by specialised factories in the automotive industry using the latest technologies, keeping pace with the spirit of the times and meeting the needs of people of all ages. He added that there were more than one hundred new cars on show for the first time, either regionally or globally, and these models have attracted large numbers of visitors to the exhibition, which reflects the stature of the UAE in the international arena and the importance of Dubai as a global city, which attracts diverse tourism, industry and investment from countries and international companies. Sheikh Mohammed concluded his visit after visiting a number of stands and viewing a selection of vehicles displayed by international parent companies, national companies and local agents of the manufacturers who are showing about 600 cars of various styles, shapes and colours. Sheikh Mohammed was welcomed by exhibitors with whom he exchanged greetings and expressed his satisfaction with the outstanding attendance by designers and manufacturers of vehicles from all over the world. Sheikh Mohammed also commended the Dubai International Motor Show, which he describes as an important trade and promotional exhibition for the UAE in general and Dubai in particular, and said that it is also a tourist trade fair "par excellence", which is for all people and all segments of the community in the UAE, the Gulf region and the entire Middle East, open to all walks of society. The Vice President said that he considered the exhibition as one of the emirate's most important tourist attractions, and it contributes to the promotion of tourism that Dubai is always working to develop and diversify.
