Egypt’s Mufti Ibrahim Negm left here Monday for the US to seek means to activate the recommendations of the international Iftaa conference “Scholarly Preparation, Fatwa Issuance Training for Imams in Muslim Minority Communities” that was held on October 17-18 in Cairo.
In pre-departure statements, Negm said he will visit Islamic centers in a number of US states to learn about their needs from the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, the first specialized scholarly authority, and challenges facing them.
He said he will discuss the establishment of a forum for studies and research of Muslim minorities abroad and rectify misconceptions about Muslims.
