Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, today received, at his palace, Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, ACTVET, and the members of the Emirates Skills Team who will participate in WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 in October, which is being organised by ACTVET.
Sheikh Nahyan welcomed the team members and expressed confidence in their abilities to achieve excellent results in the international competition. The UAE has made considerable efforts to invest in its people as the true wealth of the nation while considering its human resources as a strategic priority, he added.
At the reception hosted by Sheikh Nahyan for the members of the team, Al Shamsi expressed his appreciation while praising the considerable financial and moral support of the wise leadership to ACTVET, which has ensured the efficient organisation of WorldSkills Abu Dhabi, which will be held for the first time in the UAE and the Middle East.
He also stressed that the Emirates Skills Team includes many of the country’s best talents, consisting of 34 highly skilled youths who will compete against some 1,300 other participants from 60 countries.
The members of the team expressed their happiness and appreciation at the reception by Sheikh Nahyan, which has motivated them to aim to achieve excellent results in the international event.
They highlighted their desire to strongly compete in WorldSkills Abu Dhabi while noting that they received excellent training and the full support of ACTVET, to prepare them for the competition.
The meeting was also attended by Ali Mohammed Al Marzouki, President of the Emirates Skills Team from ACTVET, along with several officials.
