Manama - BNA
Northern Governor, Ali bin Al-Shaikh Abdulhussain Al-Asfoor, has rejected the defamation of national symbols by a few misguided extremists, noting that the evil act that happened at the Al-Malkya village is condemned and represents an insult to all Bahrainis.
The governor pointed out that the Bahraini citizens have proved their unanimous stance in rejection of such a despicable act by a group of intruders seeking to undermine the national fabric, affirming that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa is the first supporter of religious freedoms in Bahrain, which are guaranteed by the Constitution, and are among the gains of HM the King’s "Reform Era".
Al-Asfoor highlighted the wisdom of Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, and the great success of the Interior Ministry in dealing with the requirements of the Ashoora season through ensuring the security of community centres, Hussainyas and processions across the Northern Governorate, in particular, and under all circumstances.
The governor affirmed, while visiting the A’ali central Mourning, that the services provided by the kingdom during the Ashoora season are increasing and improving every year thanks to the directives of HM the King, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, extending sincere thanks and gratitude to HM King Hamad for his directives to harness all potentials to ensure that the Hussainiya rituals are performed easily.
He hailed the cooperation among the relevant parties before and during the Ashoora Commemoration season to ensure the good organisation of the events.
He affirmed that the success of the Ashoora season testifies to the authentic practice of religious rituals in Bahrain, as per the Constitution, noting that the participation of thousands of citizens and residents in the rituals proves the distinguished status of such a religious occasion in Bahrain, and reflects the kingdom’s interest in providing services and facilities to ensure the commemoration of the events within a secure and safe atmosphere.
He paid tribute to the Jaffari Endowments Directorate and the relevant officials for their efforts to ensure the success of the Ashoora season.
