Chief of army staff Gen. Raheel sharif

Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif arrived in Kabul Sunday to hold key talks with Afghan officials, local Khaama press agency reported.

Sharif will try to regain trust of Afghan officials 'badly affected by the breach of trust by Pakistan in the past,' the agency added.

Earlier in the day, media wing of Pakistan's military Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) pointed that this time Islamabad is sincere with Kabul.

The Pakistani delegation led by Raheel Sharif will discuss a date and groups of anti-government armed militants to have face-to-face meetings with Afghan government for peace.

This round of peace talks is also expected to be in Murree exurb of Islamabad where first round of talks took place in July.

The agreement to revive the stalled peace talks with Taliban was reached during a meeting between Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Pakistani Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the "Heart of Asia" conference in Islamabad.
