Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese arrived on Saturday morning at Pulkovo Airport in Saint Petersburg city.
A statement by the Orthodox Church said the pope's visit will last for two days.
He will return to Moscow on Sunday night, the statement added.
