Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese returned Cairo on Tuesday coming from Russia following an eight-day visit.
During his tour, Pope Tawadros met with a number of Russian officials including Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Patriarch Kirill II of Moscow.
He also visited a number of tourist and religious sites in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, where he led a Mass on Sunday at St. Catherine Armenian Church.
The visit comes as part of Pope Tawadros' efforts to strengthen relations with the Russian churches.
