U.S. President Barack Obama will be the first U.S. president to visit a federal prison when he tours a medium-security facility in Oklahoma Thursday, the White House said Friday.
The facility in El Reno houses roughly 1,300 inmates and once held Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh.
According to the White House, President Obama will meet with law enforcement officials and inmates at the prison. The president also will be interviewed for a coming documentary by Vice News about the criminal justice system.
