Saiful Islam Gaddafi, the son of former Libyan president Muammar Gaddafi, has called for being allowed to stand trial in Zantan City and not to be relocated. Saiful Islam Gaddafi, who is standing trial on national security infringement, attended a court hearing session on Thursday together with his two attorneys, one assigned by the state and the other by his family. He was allowed by the judge to speak during the course of the session and he asked to continue to stand trial in Zantan, according to Head of the Libyan Freedoms and Human Rights Council Milad el-Daqali. The interim Libyan authorities have been repeatedly trying to move his trial to the capital but in vain.
