The presidential guard planned to be formed in Libya will be staffed by army and police personnel, Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya Fayez al Sarraj said on Wednesday.
Speaking to a local news website, Sarraj denied any links between the presidential guard and the so-called national guard.
Sarraj noted that the presidential guard will be mainly tasked with protecting the presidential council at border crossings and airports and securing some vital facilities.
