Mufti of the Republic, Abdul-Latif Derian, met on Saturday at Dar el-Fatwa with Bishop Boulos Matar, delegated by Maronite Patriarch Beshara Boutros Rahi.


After the meeting, Matar reiterated that Patriarch Rahi's upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia aims at boosting the Islamic-Christian dialogue, as well as reviving coexistence.


Commenting on the possibility of the Patriarch's meeting with PM Hariri in Riyadh, Matar said that "Rahi's schedule of meetings has not been disclosed yet."


"The visit to the Kingdom will last until Tuesday," he added.


Matar deemed that "with the unity and patience of the Lebanese people, we can overcome obstacles."


Afterwards, Derian met respectively with Greek Orthodox Metropolitan Bishop of Aleppo and Alexandria, Boulos Yaziji, PLO Senior Official in Lebanon Fathi Abu al-Ardat, Beirut Governor Ziad Chebib, Zahle Deputies and Muslim Religious Scholars Association Head, Sheikh Salem Rafii
