Saudi King telephones US President, condemns terrorist act in New York

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has made a telephone call to US President Donald Trump, expressing the Kingdom's condemnation of the recent terrorist act in New York City.

King Salman said that the attack contradicts religious values and human principles, confirming the Kingdom's readiness to assist in countering the evil acts and his country's support for the measures taken by the US to confront terrorism and preserve its national security.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, the King stressed the importance of continuing to exert further international efforts to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and dry up its resources, offering his condolences to the friendly American people and the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.

President Trump expressed his deep appreciation for the King's condolences, praising the role being played by the Kingdom in disseminating moderation and combating extremism.

During the conversation, the two sides also discussed aspects of cooperation between them in various fields, ways of enhancing them, and the latest regional and international developments.
