Berlin - MENA
Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Mohab Mamish is in Berlin on a visit to attract German investments to Egypt.
Mamish, who doubles as head of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), will shed light on business opportunities in the Suez Canal region.
He told MENA correspondent here that the Egyptian market is promising, but what's missing is the technical know-how, with which Germany could help Egypt.
Egypt can very well benefit from German expertise to train cadres at home, Mamish noted.
Germany's Siemens has vowed to establish two centers to train technical workers, he said.
Mamish has already met with representatives of 90 companies in Munich and has visited the Port of Hamburg, the biggest in Europe.
Five agreements have been signed between East Port Said Development Co. and Germany's Bavaria to establish five factories over 40,000 square meters, Mamish said.
The factories should help create jobs for Egyptian youth and give the Egyptian economy a shot in the arm, he added.
