H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has donated the fifth batch of rare and original Islamic manuscripts and documents from his personal collection to the House of Islamic Manuscripts at Al Qasimia University.
The manuscripts date back from 300 to 400 years, detailing a number of languages dealing with Islamic topics of 'Fiqh', its fundamentals, transactions, Hadith and the Holy Quran.
This latest donation by His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, raises the number of manuscripts to 1,250, all of which will be available at the House of Islamic Manuscripts.
Built in Islamic style architecture covering 3,000 square meters, the House of Islamic Manuscripts was designed according to best international specifications in areas of document preservation and restoration, archiving, and classification.
The collection of rare manuscripts were collected by Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed during his visits to various countries via his personal efforts.
