Dubai - Arab Today
Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director-General of Dubai Department of Information, today inaugurated the International Autumn Trade Fair, IATF, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, DICEC.
"IATF has enabled the creation of a remarkable trade landscape in the country. With VAT to be introduced soon, UAE citizens and trade partners can expect a positive influence on trade and economy. VAT has been implemented after careful consideration and consultation with businessmen, banks and economic bodies. As such, the trade and commerce activities will only see a positive growth with the incorporation of this new tax regime," Sheikh Hasher said.
A report by the World Trade Organisation, WTO, indicates that UAE occupies the 12th and 10th position respectively on the list of leading exporters and importers in world trade in commercial services. The country has steered ahead of Norway, Malaysia, Indonesia and New Zealand with exports valued at US$63 billion and imports at US$82 billion.
"IATF has confirmed its status as a leading trade fair in the region. Year after year, the exhibition has not only seen an increase in participation, but also witnessed the best players from the industry extending their cooperation to it. This not only sustains Dubai’s strategic position in the re-export sector, but also recognises the comprehensive trade landscape that the city offers," he added.
IATF 2017 is a giant destination featuring new and exciting products to an ever-evolving, insatiable and sophisticated MENA market.
"IATF is more than just a trade fair or an exhibition. It is a strategic platform that not only fosters cooperation among traders, but also paves way for the economic development of the country," said Satish Khanna, General Manager of Al Fajer Information and Services and organisers of IATF.
The 32nd edition of IATF witnesses participation from 92 companies from Armenia, China, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, UAE and United Kingdom
