President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday inspected the new chlorine and caustic soda factory affiliated with El Nasr Co. for Intermediate Chemicals (NCIC) in Giza's in Abou Rawash.
The president was accompanied by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Maj. Gen. Mokhtar Abdel Latif, the CEO of NCIC.
During his tour, the president was posted on the mega project that has been established within two years only and produces 25,00 tons of liquefied chlorine gas, used in sterilizing drinking water.
The factory also produces 27,000 tons annually of liquid caustic soda.
Meanwhile, Sisi was briefed on the main control room of the factory as well as its quality assurance labs.
Later in the day, Sisi toured an exhibition showcasing the products of the NCIC.
President Sisi, earlier Saturday, inaugurated expansions of the NCIC which includes 25 factories that produce different types of chemicals.
He was flanked by a galaxy of high-ranking state officials and Armed Forces commanders during the inauguration ceremony.
