President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Monday Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for talks on ways to boost bilateral ties.

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the Indian ambassador to Egypt attended the talks, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.

Swaraj hailed Egypt's success in restoring security and political stability and wrapping up the New Suez Canal in a record time, the spokesman said.

That reflected the political leadership's tangible desire to achieve a major economic breakthrough in Egypt, the spokesman quoted the Indian minister as saying.

Youssef quoted the president as hailing deeply-rooted ties binding Egypt and India.

The president also paid tribute to India's successful experience in achieving the economic and technology growth, the spokesman said.

Sisi said there are huge economic opportunities and logistic potentials in Egypt that lure more Indian investments in the Middle East, the spokesman said.

The president cast light on steps that the Egyptian government has taken to lure more investments.

The minister said India is looking forward to Sisi's participation in the third India-Africa Forum Summit in New Delhi in October.

The spokesman quoted the president as welcoming his participation in the forum.
