Lebanese President, Michel Sleiman, on Thursday considered using chemical weapons, if truly verified, in Syria as totally tampering with human principles and values. He accordingly followed up on the treatment carried out by the International Security Council for the chemical weapons issue in Syria. Sleiman hoped said council would reach a tangible result in treating the matter, expressing his wariness of resorting to such kind of weapons, especially in a country neighboring Lebanon. On a different note, the President hailed efforts made by the Lebanese Army and security forces to unveil terrorist networks and cut the path before any strife project in the country. He also denounced the firing of rockets today as violating 1701 resolution and the Lebanese sovereignty, calling upon the concerned apparatuses to work on identifying the firers and bringing them to justice.
