Zaqaziq Court of Misdemeanors sentenced on Thursday the son of former president Mohamed Morsi to three years in prison over charges of possessing an unlicensed white weapon.
Police arrested Osama Mohamed Morsi upon a warrant issued by the public prosecution in connection with the dispersal of Rabaa Adaweya protest camp.
Two pocketknives were found in his bag.
Osama is not Morsi’s first son to be arrested. In 2015, Abdullah Morsi was arrested and served a one-year prison sentence after he was found in possession of cannabis.
