The Quartet's Middle East peace envoy Tony Blair arrived here Saturday from Moscow.
Blair is expected to hold talks with Egyptian officials on the situation in the Gaza Strip under the ongoing Israeli military escalation.
On Friday, Blair had a phone conversation with Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri on the deteriorating conditions in the Palestinian territories.
