Townsend: Visit boosts relations

Former US Homeland Security Adviser Fran Townsend has welcomed the visit of Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense, to the United States.
Townsend said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency that the visit of the deputy crown prince clearly confirms Saudi Arabia’s interest in the long-term strategic relationship that exists with the United States.
She noted that this week’s meetings of Prince Mohammed with businessmen and the speaker of the House of Representatives and other members of Congress confirm the status enjoyed by Saudi Arabia, and its strong position in the United States.
US officials are keen to interact with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and other massive development programs, such as the National Transformation Program 2020, which will expand the level and the quality of mutual relations between the two countries.
She praised the announcement of the deputy crown prince, on arrival to the United States, of his keen interest in supporting Saudi nationals studying in the US.
